How much is Carlos Beltran Salary?

Carlos Beltran Salary Carlos Beltran's 2009 salary was $19.2 million. Carlos Beltran is a professional Baseball player in the MLB and has a net worth of $45 million. Carlos Beltran has earned his net worth through his career as an outfielder with the Kansas City Royals, The Houston Astros, New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants. In the 1995 draft, Beltran was on the rookie level team for the Kansas City Royals and in 1999, won the position of the Royals leadoff hitter, as well as the starting center fielder. He moved up to the third batting position that year and was named Rookie of the Year. During the 2000 games, Beltran lost his position (because of injuries) and his position was replaced by Johnny Damon. But in 2001 he came back swinging and regained his position, batting .306 with 23 home runs and an RBI of 101. He was always known for starting out slowly and then gaining momentum, and in 2004 he was named American League Player of the Month of April. In 2004, after the teams General Manager, Allard Baird decided to dismantle the team for the sole purpose of rebuilding it, Beltran was traded to the Houston Astros. Later that year Beltron became the replacement for NL starter Ken Griffey Jr. after Griffey was placed on the disabled list. Even though Beltron was selected for the nationals, he wasn't allowed a place in the All Star game and he is known as the first player ever to play for one team, while being selected for the another. Beltran set a record with five straight postseason games, scoring a home run. After the 2004 season was over, Beltron became a free agent and offered the New York Yankess a discount of $19 million, which they declined. Beltron then signed with New York Mets with a seven year contract and the offer of $119 million. Only nine other contracts in the history of baseball ever surpassed $100 million. In 2005 Beltran was seriously injured in a collision with outfielder Mike Cameron, when they both went for a ball in shallow right center field. The head on collision caused Beltran to suffer with vertigo for a while. Cameron suffered a concussion, broken cheekbones and temporary loss of vision. He is a winner of the Silver Slugger Award (1996) and the Gold Glove (2006) and in the 2007-2008 season won his second Gold Glove. In 2011, Beltran was traded to the San Francisco Giants. The Mets paid the remaining $4 million Beltran had coming to him for his contract with them, to the Giants. Beltran was born in Manati, Puerto Rico. He graduated from Fernando Callejo High School in 1995 and was selected the second round of that years amatuer baseball draft, by the Kansas City Royals. He was an avid player of volleyball and baseball. With his father's influence, he decided to drop volleyball and concentrate solely on baseball. Which prove to pay off immensely for his career. Beltran is the founder of the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy in the town of Florida, Puerto Rico. The teachers at the Academy are MBL players and they instruct students ages 14 to 18 in the sport of Baseball. Beltran resides in Port Washinton, New York and Manati, Puerto Rico. He is the cousin of the San Diego Padres centerfielder, Reymond Fuentes.
